What this actually involves
If your customers search with a place in mind — “near me”, a city name, or simply on a phone in your neighbourhood — the local 3-pack sits above every organic result and absorbs most of the clicks. Ranking first organically while sitting outside that pack means losing the majority of the traffic before anyone scrolls.
Local SEO is a different discipline from national SEO, with its own ranking factors: proximity, category selection, citation consistency, review velocity. I work through all of them systematically, and the results tend to arrive faster than any other kind of search work.

The process, step by step
No black boxes — you always know what stage we are at and what comes next.
Local audit
I check how you currently rank across a grid of points around each location, audit your Google Business Profile, and find every directory listing carrying wrong or conflicting details.
NAP cleanup
Name, address and phone corrected to match character for character everywhere they appear. Building new citations on top of inconsistent data just scales the problem.
Profile optimisation
Primary and secondary categories, services with descriptions, service areas, attributes, opening hours, Q&A and at least twenty original photos per location.
Local pages and schema
A genuine page per location or service area — unique copy, embedded map, LocalBusiness schema — rather than templates with the city name swapped out.
Reviews and monitoring
A repeatable process for requesting reviews at the moment customers are happiest, a response routine, and monthly grid-based rank tracking.
Local SEO — common questions
How quickly does local SEO work?
Faster than national SEO. Profile and citation fixes often show movement within four to eight weeks, because the ranking signals are more direct and there is usually less competition per location.
I have several locations — is each one separate work?
Each location needs its own optimised profile, citations and landing page, but the strategy and much of the setup is shared, so additional locations cost considerably less than the first.
What if I do not have a physical shopfront?
Service-area businesses can rank well without a public address. Google Business Profile supports hiding your address while defining the areas you serve, and I set it up that way.
Can you get bad reviews removed?
Only when they breach Google’s policies — fake reviews, or reviews from people who were never customers — and I will flag those. The far more reliable strategy is generating enough genuine positive reviews that one bad one stops mattering.
