Mobile-first
Designed at 375px before desktop
WCAG AA
Contrast and focus states checked
One system
Reusable components, not one-off pages
What this actually involves
Good design is not decoration — it is the difference between a visitor who understands what you do in four seconds and one who leaves. Most sites lose people not because they are ugly but because the next step is unclear, the page is heavy with competing calls to action, or the mobile layout was an afterthought.
I design mobile-first, around the specific journeys that lead to enquiries or sales, and I build the result as a reusable system so your site stays consistent as it grows rather than drifting into a dozen slightly different button styles.

The process, step by step
No black boxes — you always know what stage we are at and what comes next.
Research and journeys
Who is arriving, what they need, and where the current experience loses them — drawn from analytics, session recordings and your sales team’s knowledge.
Wireframes
Structure and hierarchy resolved in low fidelity first, so we argue about the right things before anyone falls in love with a colour.
Visual design
High-fidelity screens with a defined type scale, spacing grid and colour palette, designed at mobile width first and then expanded.
Design system
Components, states and usage rules documented so future pages stay consistent without needing me.
Handover or build
Developer-ready files with specs and assets — or I build it, which removes the translation gap entirely.
UI/UX Design — common questions
Can you redesign without rebuilding the whole site?
Often yes. If the underlying platform is sound, a design refresh applied to existing templates is far cheaper than a rebuild and can capture most of the conversion gain.
Do you design in Figma?
Yes, and you get full access to the files and the design system — they are yours, not held hostage.
How do you know a design will convert better?
I do not, with certainty, until it is measured. Design decisions are grounded in established usability principles and your own analytics, and I set up the tracking needed to compare before and after honestly.
Is accessibility included?
Contrast ratios, focus states, keyboard navigation and semantic structure are part of the work, not an add-on. A formal WCAG audit is available separately if you need certification.
