What this actually involves
There is a great deal of noise about AI and comparatively little of it survives contact with a real business. An automation earns its place when the task happens often, follows a describable pattern, and currently consumes someone’s time. Everything else is a demo.
I build the ones that pay for themselves: assistants that answer and qualify enquiries at three in the morning, reporting that assembles itself, and integrations that stop your team retyping the same information into three systems. Judgement calls stay with humans.

The process, step by step
No black boxes — you always know what stage we are at and what comes next.
Process audit
I map where time actually goes and score each task on frequency, how rule-shaped it is, and what automating it would return. Some tasks should not be automated, and I will say so.
Pick the first win
We start with one automation with a clear payback, rather than a platform-wide programme that stalls before delivering anything.
Build and connect
The workflow or assistant itself, wired into your CRM, inbox and notification channels, with sensible fallbacks when it is unsure.
Supervised rollout
It runs alongside the manual process first so you can compare outputs and build trust before it operates unattended.
Document and hand over
Written documentation, a team walkthrough, and monitoring so failures surface immediately rather than silently.
AI Automation — common questions
Will an AI chatbot annoy my customers?
A bad one will. The assistants I build answer what they genuinely know, hand over to a human the moment they are uncertain, and never pretend to be a person. Used that way, customers prefer an instant accurate answer to waiting until morning.
What does it cost to run?
Usually modest — LLM API costs for a typical lead-qualification assistant run to a few dollars a month at small volumes. I estimate running costs before building so there are no surprises.
Is my business data sent to an AI provider?
Only what is necessary for the task, and I will tell you exactly what that is. Where data is sensitive, we scope the automation to avoid it or use a provider with the right data-handling terms.
What if it makes a mistake?
Every automation gets defined limits, human review for anything consequential, and logging so mistakes are visible and correctable. Nothing irreversible runs unattended.

These pair naturally with ai automation.
